Love The Koori Circle products? Well now you can make and create your own!

We have a number of workshop options to choose from:

The Koorie Circle Basics (2 hour workshop)

Learn more about The Koorie Circle business and the woman and maker behind the brand, Laura Thompson. She will share with you her designs, her passion for Aboriginal jewellery and you will leave with your own little Aboriginal wooden jewellery package you created, containing:

- 1 pair of ply Aboriginal Flag or Campfire studs

- 1 pair of Bamboo Boomerang Dangle Earrings

- 1 pair of Bamboo Gumleaf Dangle Earrings

- 1 ply Aboriginal Flag pin

Men's cufflink and pin packs also available on request. 

We will walk you through the creative process and you will paint your own Koorie Circle jewellery and it's yours to keep! 

Cost is $100 per person (includes all materials and earrings). Minimum number of people per workshop is 10.

The Koorie Circle #CulturalShape Immersion Program (5 x 2 hour workshops)

The Koorie Circle #CulturalShape Immersion program is a five week contemporary Aboriginal identity and design program that works with participants to express their cultural identity, in shapes, stories and designs. These drawings will be laser cut into jewellery and products.

This #CulturalShape immersion program has therapeutic and small business outcomes whilst increasing participant’s self-confidence and strengthening Aboriginal culture. 

The program aims are to teach the participants about:

  • Designing jewellery/products from start to finish
  • Exploring their own cultural identity and expressing it in art/shapes
  • Sharing their artwork, design and stories with others in the group

At the conclusion of the program participants will have:

  • Become artists and produced their own range of jewellery, that is ready to sell or gift
  • Developed an artist profile and have an artist profile photograph
  • Been mentored to be able to continue to make jewellery at home
  • Supported and encouraged to start a business

What jewellery do you get during the #CulturalShape program?

- 1 sheet of 300mm x 150mm bamboo plywood laser cut with your own earrings designs. 

- 1 pair of ply Aboriginal Flag / Campfire Stud

- 1 pair of Bamboo Boomerang Dangle Earrings

- 1 pair of Bamboo Gumleaf Earrings

- 1 ply Aboriginal Flag pin
